the cannons- are fine. In actual aerial combat the speeds at which you need to track targets are beyond the capabilities of (this ships current c/d and c/l would imply it's operating speed to be comparable to scram/ram jet tech) hydraulics and electrical servo's you would need weps forward facing and set to lead targets not track them. (~wolvesbear) stop being a noob- actually look up some of the actual concepts in aeronautical science and stop assuming you know everything. Secondly the fuselage/nacelles if you actually look closely are split with a top section lower section with no structure in the middle which offers the craft a clean shot towards targets.
if this model actually did what the above critics wanted it- or thought it should do the actual weight of the craft would increase, its efficiency would decline and it would be rendered another crappy example of high-speed aircraft concept.
I really wish people would take the time to analyze and study basic aerospace concepts before they start making ridiculous claims of how other peoples concepts should be. Unless this craft is VTOL capable I would assume that it would need between 1000ft runways, to about 2000ft- a secondary thrust solution to get it up to speeds required for scram/ram- and ridiculously advanced guidance and stability systems to overcome the obvious lack of vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
It is compact, appears that it would be a full functioning combat capable ship with short range non-atmospheric capabilities, not necessarily sure the author intended for this to be analyzed it as deeply as I did, but to be honest Ide fly the hell out of it. Even if it was a flying death trap.
Ho! Man! That's one big comment! I really like how you got to all the details man! I really didn't think of all this! It's great that you analyse almost all the small things! You really sound like an expert on spaceship (flying technology)
haha- sorry was feeling cheeky today. Not an expert, but I have spent way to much time working with flight simulation lately, when you look at airfoils and analyze aeronautical engineers ideas for your job you start to get a basic grasp at some of this stuff. regardless I really like the concept from an artists perspectives a lot of beautiful geometry and texturing in this piece.
Wow, you should be a game-designer! It looks very realistic and the design of the whole location is wonderful! Also the red you used fits in perfectly. Must have taken a long time to achieve this awsome piece.
Whith your talent I'm sure that you can do it! You're supposed to be a game designer when you do amazing stuff like that. With those skills you could even be in the team of such great games as mass effect or some star wars games. I say that because it was my first intention and I really mean it!
